Wenford Dries
This site in the hills above Rock in Cornwall contains the longest listed building in the UK. At over 500 metres, it was previously used as brick drying kilns and has been disused for many years. Karakusuevic Carson Architects have developed an innovative scheme which will largely reuse and adapt the buildings to provide a development of 36 extremely spacious loft houses. Most will have double height living areas and walled gardens. Also included in the scheme is an artists in residence facility which will provide space for artists to create and display works and also accommodate them as an artists retreat. The site is next to the famous Camel Trail which goes to the coast and is very popular with walkers and cyclists.
